Are YOU aware that Mr. Cumpiano (of 'Guitarmaking' fame) has a website? AND do you know that on his site he includes some information on things he has changed since the book was originally published? http://www.cumpiano.com/Home/Articles/writings.html Did you? Well, that makes one of us. ![]() I bookmarked the website last year when I was trying to get a handle on making rosettes - just never went back to poke around and see what else was there. Don't be like me! ![]() |

He's had a site with all that on their for many years....and it is loaded with stuff for builders to learn from. Of particular note, he talks about a Beginner's Mind, which should help to temper folks who are learning the craft. Take what he says seriously. A couple of the questions posed by beginners that he answers are from me. He helped me immensely when I was first learning, and I go back on occasion to read the emails and the posted letters and articles he has written. I'm always finding something new and useful there. |

Ditto Don. During my first guitar, Mr. Cumpiano answered several of my e-mails. Just as in his book, he was concise and left nothing to the imagination. Come to think of it, I remember you answering several of my questions on your binding jig. Thanks! Luthiers are an unselfish bunch of people. |
